Sunday was a special day. Not only was it my birthday, it was also my first Mother’s Day and Baby Girl’s first time at church! We took along the Moby and she slept in it for the first half hour, then sat with her daddy for the rest of the service. Besides a brief trip walking around in the back of the room to keep her entertained, she did wonderfully!
After service, we headed to the Cheese Cake Factory for lunch with my mom and step-dad, sister and brother in law, and my mother in law. Baby Girl got to sit with just about everyone as we ate and talked.
Gary was so sweet in celebrating my birthday and Mother’s Day. He surprised me with a gift each day for 5 days leading up to my birthday. Each one was something thoughtful, like new pots to plant garden herbs in since the dogs broke two while racing around the backyard, a subscription to my favorite magazine, two new purses, and more. When I told him he got me too much (though I loved every gift) he said he didn’t and that I gave him a baby. 🙂
She really is the best gift I ever could have asked for, and it was so fun to celebrate being her mother just four weeks after her birth! And she loves her daddy every bit as much as I do:
