Pumpkin Spiced Caramel Corn Pin Test (Pin Test: Reviewing Pins from Pinterest)

Since the moment autumn was in sight, I’ve been busy making pumpkin or pumpkin pie spiced recipes. Pumpkin pie spiced granola, pumpkin cream cheese pull apart bread (monkey bread), pumpkin pancakes, and pumpkin cupcakes all made an appearance in my kitchen before the first day of October. So, when I decided to bring some snacks to share at a get together a couple of weeks ago, I of course wanted to bring something fall themed.

I had already whipped up a batch of pumpkin cupcakes, when I decided that I wanted to bring a gluten free option too. Stovetop popcorn is one of my favorite frugal and healthy snacks to make, but it didn’t fit with the fall theme. A quick online search for “pumpkin spiced popcorn” brought me to thekitchn.com’s Pumpkin Spiced Caramel Corn.  Definitely not a healthy popcorn recipe, but it looked amazing. I also had all of the ingredients in my kitchen already so I got to work.

Pass or Fail?

PumpkinThis is probably one of the most dangerous recipes I have pin tested yet. I could have easily eaten the entire bowl on my own! I managed to arrive at the get together with most of the popcorn still there, but it’s a good thing that I made a double batch.

This recipe is so so delicious I’ve filed it away as a “gift recipe”. You could totally make this, put it in a cute bag or container, and send it to your children’s teachers as a present, or give it to family and friends as a sweet gift. Though it’s fall themed, it will definitely make an appearance around Christmastime in our house as well. I also plan to try the original Caramel Popcorn recipe on thekitchn.com soon.
