Easy Pear Sauce Pin Test: Make this naturally sweet, no sugar added alternative to applesauce. So easy and delicious!

Pear Sauce Pin Test (Pin Test: Reviewing Pins from Pinterest)

I love making homemade applesauce, but pear sauce? I didn’t even know that was a thing until a few days ago when, as I reached into a large bag of pears we’d recently purchased at Costco, I realized all of the pears were soft.

I used ripe red anjou pears for this recipe, but any variety should work.

There was no way we’d be able to eat them all before they were overripe. Fortunately, I thought of pear sauce. A quick Google search confirmed that people actually make sauce out of pears, and led me to a recipe for pear sauce at www.twopeasandtheirpod.com

The recipe I found required minimal ingredients, called for just the amount of pears I had on hand, and was sugar free; perfect for this week’s Pin Test!

Pass or Fail?

This recipe was surprisingly simple. Peeling and cutting the pears was tedious, but other than that, it was a breeze to prep and cook. And the final result was delicious! The pears had the perfect amount of natural sweetness without any added sugar, and the spices add a subtle warmth. This recipe passed the Pin Test. To try it yourself, visit  www.twopeasandtheirpod.com or click here.

After just a few minutes cooking on the stove top… Then, simply mash with a potato masher or blend in a blender.
